Oh me? I, I, I m okay& I m fine, actually. Jessica mumbled with her cheeks blushing. Actually, Ryan is the only person besides Jessica s mom who calls her Jessy . Stephanie and Sabrina really think that the two were definitely flirting. But the happy conversation were interrupted by an enemy of Jessica, Samantha Patterson or as they call her Sammy the Wormy . Oh Ryan, what are you doing here? I think you should be there at my place so that we can chat and talk, right girls? Samantha blurted. Yeah! Lara and Anna Roberts, Samantha s drones (who are twins!), replied. Um, excuse me; is it Ryan or you who should be asked if what are you doing here? Jessica knobbed. You re a rubbish Jessica, and you know that, or do you? Samantha said with a harsh voice. Whatever! I wouldn t even waist my time talking to you. Jessica answered. Yeah! Sammy the Wormy! Stephanie and Sabrina added while laughing. UGH!!! Samantha reacted. The conversation was stopped when the bell suddenly rang which signaled all of the students to go to their next period, Homeroom. 1 Chapter Two When the bell rang, the fight between Jessica and Samantha was cut so they headed for Homeroom with Ms. Spears. She started the announcement. As we all noticed, the temperature here in our neighborhood has dropped down, we are now experiencing a very cold weather inside and outside our homes and lastly, snow is starting to fall from the sky. So with your books that you will be needing for you to STUDY, I now declare the start of your Christmas vacation! Ms. Spears announced. All were glad to hear the announcement. It s 4:30 PM and the girls were together again, but this time, they were in a coffee shop outside the school campus. But tChapter One The temperature in Scott Hills neighborhood dropped down to 8 degrees Celsius since it is Christmas season. As time passes by, the students here feel colder and cooler. But there is a student who feels warmer than warm when she sees her long-time crush here. And that girl s name is Jessica Monique Williams, or simply Jessica. She is the head and the editor-in-chief of the school s news paper for journalisms. Jessica is a thirteen-year-old teenager who dreams big of becoming a professional writer and book author. She has two best-girlfriends, Stephanie Wright and Sabrina Harwood. Stephanie is the school s ice wander who is always picked as the representative for figure skating events. She won many medals and trophies for this profession. Next is Sabrina. Sabrina is the school s most graceful rhythm who also competes as the school s representative for gymnastics. And the noble writer Jessica, with them, will be a very good chemistry. They always hang out and do wonderful things for them to have fun. When Jessica saw the two near the lockers in the hallway headed to Science class, she ran to the fullest for them to catch up. Did you hear that the temperature here in Scott Hills has dropped down to nearly 8 degrees Celsius? Stephanie asked. Yeah I did, just last night. Heard it from the news. Sabrina answered. So did I, you know what, I just stayed like only a couple of minutes outside but the feeling was like so freezing to death. Jessica added. As the girls were chatting, Jessica looked around and spotted her long-time crush, Ryan Frost. Hi girls. Ryan greeted. Hey Ryan, what s up? Sabrina asked putting her elbow at the top of the shoulder of Ryan. Nothing s up and nothing s changed. How about you Jessy? RLattщ to keep them warm. Oh my gosh! I really can t believe it s Christmas vacation already! I mean, the opening of presents, Christmas carols, and everything that is connected with Christmas season. I m just really excited. Sabrina said. Yeah, in fact, I m now doing and arranging my schedule for the whole month of December. So what will I do next week? Hmmm??? Stephanie replied. Yes! A couple of weeks without teachers that keeps on buzzing you in, I think it will be really NOS PROBLEMOS MUCHOS for us! Jessica said merrily. All of them laughed. As the girls were sharing thoughts of what to do with the two-week vacation, Ryan came with his friends, Christopher Chris Wright and Kevin Anders. So, are you ready for the movie? Ryan asked. Yeah, totally. Sabrina said. Me too, can t wait! Stephanie added. Hey Kevin, do you know that there is a girl over there who will join a group who will watch a movie without asking permission from our mother? Chris joked. You re right! He was talking about her sister, Stephanie! Shut up! Mom would definitely allow me not like you. Stephanie reacted while giving Chris a nudge. Everyone laughed except for Jessica, she wasn t feel like laughing. Movie? What are you talking about guys? Jessica asked curiously. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The boys asked us three if we want to go with them to watch the new sequel of The Dead Hunter on Saturday at Scott Hills Mall Movie House. Want to come? Stephanie explained. Sure, why not. Jessica replied. Great! So I ll see you on Saturday then? Ryan asked. Yeah, I guess. Jessica answered. Cool! Well then, see you! Ryan said. Yeah, you to, see you! Jessica replied. They all laughed at Jessica and Ryan. The three boys left the coffee shop already, and also Stephanie. She has a rehearsal for the US Winter Skating Championships next week. All was left were Jessica and Sabrina, so they walked home together. 2 Chapter Three I m home! Jessica said. So how s your day so far, sweetie? mom asked while cooking in the kitchen. Fine as always mom. Jessica answered. Well then, get dressed because we ll eat dinner. mom said. So, what s the food tonight, mom? Jessica asked. Chinese? mom answered. Love it! Jessica exclaimed. After changing to her favorite pink, cheetah printed pajamas, she went downstairs to the kitchen to have a fascinating Chinese meal with mom and Patty. Patricia Anne Williams ,or simply Patty, is the younger sister of Jessica. Patty started the topic. Mom, what time are we leaving on Saturday? Patty asked. Leaving? What leaving? Where are you going by the way? Jessica asked curiously. Oh yeah, me and Patty will watch the Silverstone at the Scott Hills Mall Movie House, and I would be glad if you will come with us, will you? mom asked. In Jessica s mind: Saturday!?! Movie!?! Scott Hills Mall Movie House!?! Doesn t that resemble with my schedule on Saturday with my friends? What am I going to do? What am I going to answer to mom? So what s your decision? Are you coming with us? mom asked. Umm, actually, Stephanie, Sabrina and the three boys will do our group project on Saturday also at Sabrina s house, mom. I m sorry. Jessica made this alibi and apologized. Oh, I see& mom said sadly. Jessica really hates it when mom does the low-voice talking and the sad and quiet scenery of her mom. Jessica lied; she lied to her mom just for her to be able to come with her friends. But why? She could have just told it to mom directly, and that would be less painful. The rice boxes and the chopsticks were already thrown. And the not-so-fascinating Chinese meal was already over. While cleaning the kitchen, their telephone rang. Jessica was the one who was able to answer it. Hello, Jessy here. Jessica said. That is how she greets people on the telephone. Hey, it s me, Sabrina. I m so excited about the movie. I mean, with Ryan, Chris, Kevin and my two best-girlfriends, wow! At least Sammy the Wormy is not invited. Hello? Jessica, are you still there? Sabrina asked. Yeah, yeah, I m still here and with a big problem. Jessica said. Well then, spill it! Sabrina blurted. Okay, Patty and mom will watch the Silverstone. Jessica said. So? What s the matter? Sabrina asked. Guess WHERE and WHEN. Jessica said. Let me see& Umm& Where and when? Sabrina asked. At the Scott Hills Mall and on Saturday too! Jessica explained. Well, what did you say? Sabrina asked. I made an alibi that we will have a group project at YOUR house. Ha-ha-ha. Jessica said while laughing. What!? At my house!? What if your mom asks my mom if you re here, are they doing the project and blah, blah, blah. What am I going to say? Sabrina knobbed. Don t worry, she won t. Jessica replied. Well, yup! That is a major problem! Sabrina said. 3 Chapter Four Next morning, Jessica called Stephanie, Sabrina and the rest of the group to meet her at the Starbucks Coffee near Goldington St. which is the street that Stephanie and Chris house belongs to. (At least Chris wasn t involved this time, he has soccer practice.) So, what is this all about? Kevin asked. Yeah, Jessica, what s the rush? Stephanie asked and added. Look guys, Patty and mom will watch the Silverstone on Saturday. Jessica said. And guess where. Sabrina added. Where? Ryan asked. At the Scott Hills Mall too. Jessica explained. Wow! How cool is that! I mean, how cruel is that. Kevin said. Shut up! Sabrina told Kevin to shut his mouth. I m sorry, I m sorry. Kevin apologized. It s okay. Jessica said. Wait a minute, the Silverstone has a different movie house from The Dead Hunter s, right? Ryan asked. Yes, why? Jessica asked. That means the screening time of the both movies will be different too. Ryan explained. You are totally right, Ryan! Stephanie said. Yeah, you re a genius! But, how will we know the screening time of the two movies? Jessica asked. Simple! I will call the Scott Hills Mall Movie House and I will ask the time, right here, right now! Sabrina suggested. Great! Stephanie exclaimed. While Sabrina, Stephanie, and Kevin were talking to the operator of Scott Hills Mall Movie House, Jessica talked to Ryan. Thank you, Ryan, for everything. Jessica thanked. No biggie! I m always here to help you. What are friends for, right? Ryan said. Yeah, you are absolutely right. Jessica answered. Jessica s problem was solved already and she was now relieved. In a mean while, Stephanie and Sabrina were finished asking the time of the movie screenings. Hey you guys, problem solved! Stephanie said. Yup, the screening time of the Silverstone will be 4:30 PM sharp while The Dead Hunter s is thirty minutes earlier so that would be 4:00 PM sharp& Sabrina s line was cut. Which means, we will finish the movie earlier than the Silverstone! Kevin continued. Ggghhhrrr& Sabrina exclaimed. All of them laughed at the two. Oh my gosh, I can t believe this. Thank you guys. Jessica thanked them all. And so, after talking about the movies, all of them ordered for a Cafщ Smoothies and went home in no time. 4 Chapter Five That night, Jessica grabbed her cheetah-printed diary, opened its lock and started writing her new journal for the day: Friday, December 18 18:33 pm Dear Diary, Ryan asked Stephanie, Sabrina and I with Kevin and Chris in a movie treat on Saturday, tomorrow. But when I arrived home yesterday, mom asked me the same thing, to watch a movie with the same place and the same day. Well, it s a different movie that my friends and I will watch, but still& Ugh! In case of that, what I did was wrong, I lied to my mom, my own mom, just for me to able to go with my friends. I hope mom will forgive me& Good Night& xoxo Jessy Williams After writing her new journal, Jessica closed and locked the diary, kept in the drawer of her side table, closed the lights and went to sleep. Jessica woke up late the next morning because she slept late last night. She arranged her bed sheet and the comforter. After fixing her bed, she quickly went to her sofa area near a glass window, facing outside and stared at the little snowflakes that is falling down from the sky. Then said, Oh, It s Saturday& Hope that mom will not know that I will be& she stopped when she hard a voice calling her. Patty, Jessy! Go down now, breakfast s ready! mom cheerfully called them that morning. So Jessica did went down to eat. Good morning mom, good morning Patty. Jessica have greeted them a good morning. Good morning too, sweetie! mom replied. What s our breakfast today, mom? Patty asked. Ham and bacon with cheese omelet and sunny-side up egg. mom answered. Yummy! Patty squalled. Jessica feels awful that time. Jessy, honey, what s the problem? Tell me. Does the bacon or the ham tastes bad? Those are your favorite, right? mom asked caringly. Huh? Oh, it s nothing, mom. Its just that& Jessica quickly thinked the next word that she will say. Ummm& Its just that, I don t know what to give Patty this Christmas. Jessica whispered to mom. Oh! mom said then laughed. Just give something nice, useful and educational. You know your sister, right? mom asked. Yeah, you are absolutely right, mom! Jessica replied. 5 Chapter Six Hours passed quickly and when she finally looked at her digital clock on her side table, it says 3:42 PM. So she hurriedly dressed up. She wore her favorite pink sweatshirt, she also wore her red sweater and lastly, she tied up an orange-colored scarf around her neck. She s wearing a nice and smooth jeans and her favorite pink, Nike sneakers. When she s ready to go, she saw mom and Patty by the front door. Jessica, Patty and I will go now. Just lock our doors and don t go home late, okay? mom ordered. Okay, mom. Jessica replied. Have fun! mom said. Okay, I will. Jessica answered. Jessica left the house just a couple of minutes her mom and Patty did. The six of them met already at the Scott Hills Mall Movie House. Jessica and Ryan talked first while Chris and Kevin are buying popcorns and Stephanie and Sabrina are buying movie tickets for them. Do you think that this will work? Jessica asked. Yeah, it will definitely work, trust me. Ryan replied. At the time when Chris, Kevin, Stephanie and Sabrina finished buying popcorns and tickets, they directly went inside the movie house #3. The group enjoyed watching the movie. On the other hand, Patty and mom were also enjoying the Silverstone movie at the movie house #1 not knowing that Jessica is just a few meters away from them. By the time The Dead Hunter finished, they hurriedly proceeded outside but Stephanie really, really needs to go to the comfort room. Silverstone was about to end that time but unfortunately, Patty also really needs to go to the comfort room and was not able to finish the Silverstone. Mom and Patty hurriedly went to the comfort room where the three girls are. Actually, Chris, Kevin and Ryan were waiting for the girls outside the comfort room s door. Ryan saw Jessica s mom and sister going to the comfort room so he quickly called Jessica in her cellular phone and told her that her mom will be there. Hello? Jessica, we saw your mom and your sister heading towards the comfort room where you re at. Hide, fast! Ryan said. Okay! Jessica replied. You guys, mom s here! Where can we hide? Jessica asked the two. Here, quick! Inside this cubicle. Stephanie suggested. So the girls hid there and kept quiet. Here honey, you can use this cubicle. mom directed Patty to the cubicle beside where Jessica, Stephanie and Sabrina at. A few minutes later, mom and Patty already left the comfort room so the girls went out already of the very hot cubicle they re at. Meanwhile, mom missed something. Patty, my bag is not with me. Have you remembered where did I put it? mom asked. Bag? Oh yeah, I remembered, 6 you placed it near the sink, right? Patty said. Yes! I remembered. Good thinking honey. They went back to the comfort room to get the left bag. When they opened the comfort room s door, mom was shocked from in what she saw. She saw Jessica with Stephanie and Sabrina in front of her very eyes. What are you doing here, Jessica? I thought you re doing a group project with Stephanie and your friends at the house of& mom stopped talking when she saw Sabrina with the two. Oh I see! You lied! You lied to me, Jessica? Is that right? mom said angrily. I m sorry, mom. Jessica apologized. So you planned this all yourselves? You planned these lies to me? Wow! mom exclaimed. We re very sorry, Mrs. Williams. Stephanie and Sabrina also apologized. Mom was really angry with the girls that she can t even accept their apologies. Jessica! Go out. Let s go home, immediately! Do you hear me? mom ordered. I have to go guys, tell Chris, Kevin and Ryan, thank you. Jessica explained. Okay, take care of yourself. Stephanie said. Yeah, I ll tell it to them. Don t worry, everything s going to be fine. Sabrina said. Thanks& Jessica thanked them. After these, mom, Patty and Jessica left the Scott Hills Mall Movie House. 7 Chapter Seven In the Williams residence, after the confrontation happened in the movie house s comfort room, mom and Jessica went directly to the living room and sat at their skinny tan-colored sofa. Patty, go to your room. Let me and your sister talk alone first. mom said. Okay, mom! Patty replied. And she went to her quietly and quickly. Why did you have to do this? Huh? mom asked. Mom, I m just scared, I m just scared that I might hurt your feelings. Jessica explained. Well, lying to me just made my feeling much hurt. mom said. You could just tell it to me directly, in that way, I will permit you. But what did you do instead? You made an excuse that you and your friends will do a group project and& mom stopped, putted her hands to her chin and laid her elbow to one side of the sofa. In Jessica s mind: Mom s right, I could just told it to her directly. That, would be less painful. Oh mom, please, please forgive from what I have done. Jessica asked for an acceptance of her apology. But you will have to promise that won t do it again. mom made a condition. Yes mom, I promise. I won t do it again. Jessica replied. After the problem was settled, they all ate dinner and then after a while, Jessica and patty went to their own bedrooms. Jessica again grabbed a pen and started writing her new journal in her diary: Saturday, December 19 22;38 Dear Diary, I ve lost it! I know I lied to my mom, but we were able to settle it up and tried to work our relationship again as a strong family. I know I made a mistake of lying to her just so I can do what I want to do. I promised her that I won t do it again. So that s all for tonight, till then& Good Night& xoxo Jessy Williams 8 Chapter Eight Days passed until the 24th of December has arrived. Jessica, Stephanie, Sabrina, Chris, Kevin, Ryan and of course, her little sister, Patty with their parents sang Christmas carols around the whole neighborhood of Scott Hills. They exchanged gifts and said MERRY CHRISTMAS to each other. After the Christmas party, the three girls has a Christmas-sleepover party at Jessica s house. Merry Christmas, mom! Jessica and Patty greeted. Merry Christmas, Mrs. Williams! Stephanie and Sabrina also greeted. Thank you, girls. mom replied. The three went to Jessica s bedroom already. They did some nail polishing and other stuff that can keep them busy like watching DVDs and chatting on the net. Are you sleepy, guys? Jessica asked. A bit. Sabrina replied. Yeah, me too. It s almost 1:00 AM. Stephanie added. Mom went to the girls room and checked if they re sleeping already but she saw the opposite of what she is thinking. Try to get some sleep, girls. mom said. Yes, mom. Jessica replied. Good night, Mrs. Williams. Stephanie and Sabrina said. Good night, mom. Love ya! Jessica said. They all grabbed their flip beds and Stephanie and Sabrina went to sleep already. But Jessica wasn t sleepy yet, so she grabbed her diary and pen and wrote a new journal: Friday, December 25 1:15 AM Dear Diary, My friends and I did a Christmas carol here in Scott Hills with our parents. After that, we gave our gifts to each other. Then, Stephanie, Sabrina and I had a beautiful sleepover party which we called Christmas-sleepover party at my house.
